Ordering Meat

 
 April 2019 availability:
Now taking orders for:
  • 1/2 and whole hogs to be processed on May 22, 2019. Carcass weight is about 100 lbs. for a half hog. Price is $2.45/lb. of carcass weight; processing is additional and usually runs about $1.10/lb. of carcass weight. Pork order form (also scroll down for more details)
     
  • Whole turkeys, $3.15/lb. and weights from 13 to 23 lbs.
     
  • 10-bird bundles of chicken. Price: $3.55/lb.
    The bundle includes:
    • 10 packages of breast
    • 10 thigh + drumstick packages (2 thighs + 2 drums/pkg)
    • 5 packages of wings (4/pkg)
    • 5 packages of backs (2/pkg)
    • 10 necks, 10 gizzards, 10 livers, 10 hearts
       
  • Grassfed beef quarter. Carcass weight is 130 lbs. to 150 lbs. for a quarter beef. Price is $3.25/lb. of carcass weight; processing is additional at about $0.75/lb. of carcass weight. Butchering will be late fall of 2019. Beef order form (also scroll down for more details)
     
  • Whole chickens available anytime. Weights 4.5 to 5.5 lbs.; Price is $3.15/lb.

Beef cattle and hogs for custom processing:
  • You order a 1/4, 1/2, or whole beef; or a 1/2 or whole hog; or a whole lamb. I am now requesting downpayments and signed order forms to hold and process your order. Download forms:
  • I arrange a butchering date and deliver the animal to the butcher.
     
  • You decide how you want your meat cut: package size, choice of cuts, and so on. (The butcher can help you with this part.)
     
  • When the meat is ready, we make pick-up arrangements and you pay for your meat.
Visit the Farm!
You have the right to visit the farm to choose your own animal prior to custom butchering.

Prices and Meat Quantities



 

* NOTE that the processing prices vary somewhat from butcher to butcher. Processing costs will also vary depending on your choice of cuts.
The prices given in this table are examples of typical costs, not guarantees.

Meat Price: $3.25 per pound of carcass weight

Meat Price: $2.45 per pound of carcass weight

Total Price: $8.00 per pound of carcass weight

Your total cost:

1/4 beef carcass = about 150 lbs.
150 lbs. x $3.25 = $487.50 for the meat
150 lbs. x $0.75 = $112.50 for processing
Total = $600

Your total cost:

1/2 hog carcass = about 100 lbs.
100 lbs. x $2.45 = $245.00 for the meat
100 lbs. x $1.10 = $110.00 for processing
Total = $355

Your total cost:

whole lamb carcass = about 45 lbs.
45 lbs. x $8.00 = $360
This includes processing.

What you get:

1/4 beef = about 90 lbs. cut and wrapped meat.

This 90 lbs. includes bone-in cuts of meat.

(If you want all boneless meat, you need to tell the butcher and your total pounds will be less.)

This will take up about 3 cubic feet of freezer space.

Cuts are your preference as you told the butcher.

Cost per pound of cut & wrapped meat = (approximately) $6.33


 

What you get:

1/2 hog = about 75 lbs. cut and wrapped meat.

This 75 lbs. includes bone-in cuts of meat.

(If you want all boneless meat, you need to tell the butcher and your total pounds will be less.)

This will take up about 2.5 cubic feet of freezer space.

Cuts are your preference as you told the butcher.

Cost per pound of cut & wrapped meat = (approximately) $4.73


 

What you get:

1/2 lamb = about 35 lbs. cut and wrapped meat.

This 35 lbs. includes bone-in cuts of meat.

(If you want all boneless meat, you need to tell the butcher and your total pounds will be less.)

This will take up about 1.5 cubic feet of freezer space.

Cost per pound of cut & wrapped meat = (approximately) $10.28
